Job Description Summary
IT Delivery is responsible for building and deploying end to end IT solutions for business and markets. This will increasingly involve configuring and integrating standard applications (the full stack including infrastructure), rather than customizing or developing software. Input for these solutions comes from the Sector/Function/Markets CIO and Platform & Architecture organizations. Upon acceptance by the business, the deliverables will be transitioned to Operations for “run management.” In the run phase, the Delivery organization provides 3rd line application maintenance and support to Operations.
IT Delivery applies the Agile/Scrum methodology and manages external partners on an output basis.
Competence centers and sourcing will be organized around Platforms: Idea to Market, Market to Order, Order to
Cash/Fulfillment business applications and the enabling Platforms. Key roles in the Competence Centers are the
Competence Group Manager, Team Lead, Business Analyst, Technical Lead and Senior Project Manager.
The IT Tech Lead is an integral part of the project team. Has in depth knowledge of IT Applications and Platforms and the translation of high level solutions into detailed technical design. IT Technical Lead keeps track of development in IT solutions. The IT Technical Lead is a counterpart of the Architects and works together with IT Business Analyst and 3rd parties (Vendor) who develop IT solutions.
Key areas of responsibility
· Accountable that the solution designs meets the functional requirements specified by the Business Analyst.
· Accountable that solution design meets platform architecture. Provide feedback to architecture community on architecture and design.
· Accountable that deliverables meet requirements w.r.t. reliability, availability, manageability, performance, and security and compliance.
· Approves the content of the release prior to release and manages interrelation aspects with other applications.
· Supports development team in performing build automation and configuration management.
· Supports the Delivery Manager in timely provision of technical environments.
· Supports Business Analyst, Project Manager and Delivery Manager on managing, tracking, and forecasting of solution development.
· Coaches Tech Leads and Developers.
· Will act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May supervise the activities of others.
· Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.
· Will be responsible for technical document reviews and also for Design specification document.
· Should have good knowledge of FDA Validation Process.
Key Competencies/Knowledge
· PLM/Change & Configuration management process expert (at least 6-8 years relevant experience)
· Expert in Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, SUMA and other modules (at least 3 years relevant experience):
o WindChill configuration,
o Windchill customization
o Integration of Windchill with downstream applications.
· Experienced with coaching technical leads and developers.
· Experienced with estimating software development.
· Strong communication skills desired.
· 5-10% travel may be required
· Knowledge of industry best practices to support relevant business processes.
· CMII certification – Desired.
