JOB TITLE Technical Consultant
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible of providing technical module support as described in the document.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible of project support and understands project support methodology.
· Develops expertise of iMAL modules and consulting practices.
· Conducts preliminary troubleshooting on the technical issues reported by the client.
· Knowledge of 70 % of iMAL Table structure.
· Coordinates with the PE in order to gather all the needed script for technical issues, tests them for validity purpose, delivers the needed part to the customer and assists the client in answering any issues.
· Assists business consultants in defining the technical requirements of the clients and preparing initial BRDs.
· Onsite testing of SW patches/ enhancements/modifications.
· Develops complex advices, reports, and dynamic files.
· Troubleshoots and helps users in day to day operations.
· Executes based on the priorities established by the Manager.
· Establishes and maintains a good relationship with the clients.
· Communicates and responds to clients queries in a professional and timely manner.
· Discusses and analyzes requirements from a technical perspective to advise the right work solution especially for the show stopper modifications without delaying the project support.
· Gives advice to the client to optimize the system utilization and helps and ensure/provides technical and application training.
· Applies technical/ domain knowledge and provides necessary information on the spreadsheet and ePath to Product Engineer team. Works with Senior Business Consultants/ Technical Consultants and clients to help refine, prioritize and schedule all the technical assistant requests (TAR).
· Follows up with the escalation team for a timely resolution of the TARs.
· Communicates information directly and clearly. Checks for clarity and understanding during a conversation with internal and external clients.
· Be proactive in identifying problems and risks before it occurs and escalates critical issues and project risks to the manager.
· Assists the client in preparing/reviewing the client work procedures.
· Enhances iMAL knowledge by attending trainings and self-learning.
· Promotes teamwork and cooperation within team and other departments.
· Prepares well-structured quality official documentation (work procedures, presentations, etc.) to be submitted to Client or for internal use.
· Should be able to manage customer expectations and escalations.
· Prepares and maintains records of respective activities as per the responsibility of technical consultant as specified in Path Solutions QMS.
· Respects and obeys company rules, policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCY SKILLS
· A BS in Computer Science, Business Computing, or computer engineer is required.
· Good Knowledge in Oracle – SQL, Microsoft – Excel and Sybase.
· Programming Oriented Object (POO) such as Power-Builder, visual basic, etc. and/or JAVA are a plus.
· More than 4 years of experience in the fields of software development and RDBMS skills and should be able to write SQL statements.
· Minimum 2 years of experience as a Consultant is mandatory.
· The Consultant is expected to acquire very good technical/Business knowledge of iMAL Core and Business Critical Modules within three months after joining Path Solutions.
· Within six months after joining Path, acquire very good technical knowledge of iMAL modules and above 80% technical knowledge of minimum 6 iMAL modules.
· Should have good verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have ability for critical and analytical thinking.
· Be a good problem detector and solver.
· Ability to operate comfortably in high stress situations.
· Good coordination skills and a team player.
· Should be able to establish and maintain a professional relationship with the clients and team members.
· Respect others, active listener, motivated, willing to learn new skills.
· Ready to travel to clients’ site as and when needed.
· Ability to generate additional revenues to the Department.
